Washington National Cathedral

On December 12, 1976, Cathedral Choral Society presented our very first Joy of Christmas. Now 50 years later, this beloved tradition remains an essential part of the holiday season in Washington, full of splendor and magic in one of the city’s most awe-inspiring spaces!

Join CCS for holiday favorites both past and present this year, including sing-along carols, jubilant brass, majestic organ, and festive carillon. We’ll also mark the occasion by revisiting some of our favorite commissions from the past five decades—works that have since become seasonal sensations for choirs around the world. Whether this is your first Joy of Christmas or your fiftieth, we cannot wait to ring in the holidays with you!

“This performance is brought to you by the Cathedral Choral Society (CCS). CCS is a 501(c)(3) performing arts organization, and it is separate from Washington National Cathedral. We celebrate the opportunity to be able to produce art in this magnificent space; the concert is not a production of the Washington National Cathedral.”
