Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

There’s no dress code for a CCS concert and we want you to feel at home. For some, the majesty of the Cathedral inspires them to wear business attire; for others, being comfortable is a priority. Though you might feel out of place in shorts and flip-flops, we are happy to have you however you come.

Can I bring the kids?

Yes! We love seeing young people in our audience. For our 2022-23 season, children over the age of 2 (or children who need their own seat) must have their own ticket. However, these tickets are eligible for the same pricing as our student tickets.

Here are some tips to make the experience an enjoyable one:

  • We ask that if your child becomes noisy during the performance that you simply remove him/her if possible as some may find the noise distracting. Also, we are often recording our performances for commercial release, and editing out extra noises is very difficult for our engineers.
  • We have coloring books for sale at the entry to the concert (while supplies last).
  • If you are looking for which concert might be more ‘kid-friendly’ than another, give us a call and we’ll help you decide.
  • Pro-tip: seating in the North Transept provides not only a good side view of the chorus and conductor, it is also close to a doorway in case you need to make a quick escape. Ask your box office specialist today!
What are my dining options in the area?

There are a number of dining options close to Washington National Cathedral. The following are restaurants located near the corner of Wisconsin Ave. and Macomb St.:

Open City at the National Cathedral

2 Amys

Cactus Cantina

La Piquette

Heritage India

I have accessibility concerns. Who should I talk to?

At the Cathedral Choral Society, we aim to make our concerts accessible for those with special needs and/or physical handicaps. Should you require any special assistance or consideration, please reach out to us so that we can make the concert-going experience enjoyable. Whether that’s finding the best seat, or figuring out where the accessible entrances are, we’re happy to help.

For accessibility questions, please contact our Patron & Donor Manager Gabriela Calderon at (202)537-5510 or at

Where can I learn about your health & safety guidelines?

You can learn more about our attendance policies, what to expect when you visit, and venue information here!

Please note that attendance requirements may change due to changes in COVID-19 infection rates, as well as recommendations or mandates from the City of Washington, DC.

What is your ticket exchange policy?

If you cannot attend the CCS performance you purchased a ticket for, you have some options:

  • Convert your ticket to a donation (available up to 48 hours before the event).
  • Receive a credit to a future Cathedral Choral Society performance.

For more information about our ticket exchange policy, please contact the Cathedral box office at 202.537.2228.

How do I watch the concert livestream?

To watch the livestream of any of our upcoming concerts, you will need to register ahead of time. This ensures that you will be sent the YouTube livestream link on the day of the concert.

  1. Go to the event page of the concert you would like to attend – it’s usually linked under our “Concerts” header menu!
  2. Click the “Watch Online” button. You’ll be directed to our ticketing platform, where you can register for free or with a donation.
  3. Complete the required fields to sign up. You will not receive the YouTube link right away, but you will be registered in our system!

You will receive the YouTube livestream link within the hour before the beginning of the performance on concert day. You can use that same link to watch the performance back up until 30 days after the concert.
