Gabriela Calderon's Bio
Gabriela Calderon, Patron & Donor Manager
Passionate for the arts and championing the belief that art should be equitable and accessible for all, Gabriela I. Calderon strongly believes that art can create a lasting impact in the development of a person’s sense of self as well as in their community.
Artist by nature and art manager by trade, the native Laredoan has always shown a deep interest in the arts and the impact that they have on the world. From 2007 to 2011, Gabriela attended Texas A&M International University, graduating with a bachelor’s in visual arts and a joint minor in business administration and art history. These studies served as a foundation that would guide her later in her education as she sought to deepen the connection between the arts and the tangible and intangible services they provide.
After graduation, Gabriela worked for her alma mater as operations manager in the growing department of Continuing Education. Her role led her to develop effective organizational procedures and establish policies that streamlined the workload for the department. In her free time, she taught art history during summer programs for students ranging from first grade to high school.
In 2016, Gabriela would be accepted to the graduate program of Arts Management at American University. She would graduate with a master’s in arts management and administration in 2019 with her thesis exploring the issues surrounding the repatriation, reparation, and restitution of ancient arts and antiquities of Latin American origin. During her time at American University, Gabriela would serve as Development Coordinator for the Emerging Art Leaders Symposium as well as work for the Office of Student Services at the School of Public Affairs as office manager.
Gabriela first joined Cathedral Choral Society in February 2020, bringing with her 10 years’ experience in for-profit and non-profit industries. As CCS Donor and Patron Manager, Gabriela is constantly seeking an opportunity to connect extraordinary people with worthy causes.
