Catherine Ort-Mabry, Interim Executive Director
Catherine Ort-Mabry is a compelling and effective leader with deep experience in helping large-scale nonprofit organizations define and deliver value. She has a demonstrated track record of providing strategic leadership, and she is a catalyst for organizational transformation across sectors including life science, medicine, housing, finance, entertainment, and historic preservation. As Interim Executive Director for CCS, Catherine leads operations, governance, marketing and fundraising, and she works closely with the artistic staff to produce the season’s vibrant, engaging performances.
Catherine is also Chief Executive Officer of C O M Solutions, a consulting firm that partners with purpose-driven organizations to meet their strategic priorities by activating their key stakeholders. She has delivered game-changing results for member-driven organizations and global brands for decades and partners with purpose-driven organizations to fulfill their missions through measurable outcomes. Catherine recently served as chief marketing and communications officer for the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), one of the largest professional societies dedicated to the life sciences, where she developed programs that exceeded goals in customer satisfaction, membership recruitment and retention, media exposure, and digital reach.
Catherine holds a Master’s degree in communication from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. An active community volunteer, Catherine serves in leadership positions in her professional societies and a number of cultural organizations. In addition to her professional expertise, she has served as a member of the CCS soprano section for more than 25 years.
