About our 14th annual DC High School Choir Festival

This year's festival took place on Wednesday, January 30th at Washington National Cathedral. We were thrilled to have Maestro Steven Fox as our Festival Director. Fox is our newly appointed Music Director as well as the Artistic Director of New York's GRAMMY-nominated Clarion Orchestra and Clarion Choir.

The Festival: Students arrived at Washington National Cathedral around 1:00pm for a day of music-making and camaraderie. This year's festival activities included a combined chorus rehearsal with Maestro Fox, Soprano/Alto sectionals and Tenor/Bass sectionals, rehearsal time with each individual choir, an Alexander Technqiue workshop, an audition prep workshop, and a spaghetti dinner.

The day concluded with a free concert, open to the public. The concert featured each individual choir and ended with two combined pieces led by Maestro Fox -- one a cappella and one with the National Cathedral School and St. Albans School Orchestra.
