About the Festival

The Cathedral Choral Society is pleased to present its annual DC High School Choir Festival, which brings together students from public, private, and charter schools throughout the District of Columbia for a day of music-making and camaraderie. This day-long event consists of rehearsals, sectionals, vocal workshops, a group dinner, and an evening concert. Each choir performs a piece on its own along with two combined pieces -- one a cappella and one with a student orchestra -- under the baton of Maestro Steven Fox.

Our 14th annual DC High School Choir Festival took place on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019 at Washington National Cathedral. Festival activities included: a combined rehearsal with Maestro Fox, sectionals, individual choir rehearsals, an Alexander Technique workshop, an audition prep workshop, and a group dinner. The day concluded with a free concert, open to the public.
