J. Reilly Lewis conducts the Cathedral Choral Society and soprano Kendra Colton in Stephen Paulus's large-scale orchestral work, recorded during the March 2003 Mass Appeal concert at Washington National Cathedral. The compact disc also includes choral selections by Dan Locklair, Charles Ives, Morten Lauridsen, Gerald Near, Eric Whitacre, Edwin Fissinger and James McMillan, sung by the Society at the April, 2004 performance of Mystics Ancient and Modern.

This collection includes a stunning selection of holiday music by Eric Whitacre, Norman Dello Joio, Edwin Fissinger, Kenneth Leighton and Washington National Cathedral composers, Leo Sowerby and Richard Wayne Dirksen, to whose memory the recording is dedicated.
