The Cathedral Choral Society employs a core of 24 professional choristers. We seek solo caliber singers who have the musical sensibilities of a professional chorister. Professional choristers are musicians who know the appropriate interpretation to use when singing Handel’s Messiah vs. Verdi’s Requiem. Professional choristers know the appropriate tone/texture to use when singing a Renaissance motet vs. a Romantic period part-song. If you have these qualities, we would love to have you audition for a professional singer spot on our roster.

Audition Requirements – Professional Chorister

Please bring your completed Professional Singer Information Form and a résumé detailing your professional singing/chorister history.

Auditions are 10 minutes in length and include vocalizing, pitch-matching, and sight-reading (on one's own voice part). Please bring a prepared piece that demonstrates your strengths. An accompanist is provided so please bring an extra copy of your prepared piece.

If you find it necessary to cancel, 24 hours notice is appreciated but even at the last minute, the courtesy of a phone call is appreciated.
